Treat Maori like other ethnic groups says ACT

ACT MP Nicole McKee says the party wants to see Māori health improve – but a separate Māori Health Authority is not the right way to do it.
The party held its annual conference last Sunday and presented its alternate Budget.
Ms McKee says ACT is getting a lot of flak for is statements on Māori, but it’s the Government which has put race-based policies on the table.
"What ACT would like to see is policies that will work for everybody and we recognised, especially in the health system for example, that Māori are disadvantaged and we do need to make sure we have better health outcomes for Māori – we want that, but we also want it for some of the other ethic groups that are out there," she says.
