A Tamil musician and cultural consultant has tapped into Māori experiences for his new book on how cultural intelligence or CQ can be used to create meaningful relationships with people from different cultures.
Wilbur Sargunaraj will launch his book Exploring CQ in Auckland tomorrow.
He says there are four pillars to CQ.
“Your CQ drive, that’s having an interest in other cultures. CQ knowledge – how our culture is similar or different. CQ strategy, which is planning and being aware when you’re part of a new culture when you’re interacting with a new culture. And the last one is CQ action, which is appropriately adjusting your behaviours,” he says.
