Green aghast at virtue signalling Blue
Greens co-leader Marama Davidson is finding Judith Collins’ sudden emphasis on faith creepy.
The National Party leader has gone out of her way over the past week to point out she is a Christian, including allowing herself to be photographed kneeling in the empty church next to where she cast her vote on Saturday.
Ms Davidson says growing up in Te Taitokerau marae environments that were infused with religious practice gave her respect for the diversity of religious belief, but it’s not something to tout in politics.
"That photo, can I just say a bit creepy, a bit weird, a weird way of virtue signaling and I say that because Judith has many, many times accused the Greens of virtue signalling in the highest order. I just found it incredibly virtue signalling," she says.
