Last chance this year for arts funding

Creative New Zealand is reminding artists and organisations seeking support of the March 29 deadline for its latest funding round.
Arts development services manager Cath Cardiff says the 12 funding programmes include three prestigious fellowships, each worth $100,000 over two years for choreography, craft/object and writing projects, and a three-month artist’s residency in Samoa.
In the last financial year Creative New Zealand awarded 592 grants totalling $7.3 million.
She says the funding is highly contested, and applicants need to ensure they give themselves enough time to put together a quality application that articulates their ideas well.
A change in the programme to consolidate the arts grants and quick response grants programmes means there will be no mid-year quick response round.
