Vaccination season to spread Xmas cheer
The head of South Auckland Māori health provider Turuki Health CEO says people need to get prepared with Christmas coming, Covid on the rise and the borders open.
Te Puea Winiata says people need to think not only of their own health but the whanau they will visit, who maybe more vulnerable.
She’s urging people to make sure they are up to date with vaccinations and boosters – including from today second booster shots for Maori aged 40 to 49.
“Please take advantage of that if you’re Maori or Pacific 40 and over. Also remember getting your primary vaccines and boosters, if you haven’t got those, before Christmas, and also thinking of all those other things that have kept us well,” Ms Puea Winiata says.
It will be a big vaccination weekend across south Auckland with all the Maori health providers who have vaccination centres operating.
