Press gallery Covid hot spot

Covid-19 is thinning the ranks of reporters on hand to chronicle the anti-mandate occupation at Parliament.
At least four press gallery reporters have contracted the virus, including Radio Waatea’s Claudette Hauiti.
She’s in no doubt where it came from.
“We have protesters out on the front lawn of Parliament and a significant number of them are unvaccinated and we have reports of a number of protesters in hospital with Covid,” Ms Hautiti says.
There are 14,633 new community cases of Covid-19 in New Zealand today – slightly down on Sunday’s case number of 14,941.
It takes the total of New Zealand cases since the start of the pandemic to over 100,000.
There are 344 people in hospital including five in intensive care.
