Covid hangover the worst
A Mangamuka man recovering from Covid-19 says it’s been like a thousand hangovers.
Manga Puhi contracted the virus after his wife Rosalina returned with it from a trip to drop off grandchildren to Auckland.
While she had received her first vaccination and had relatively mild symptoms, he was unvaccinated and did it hard.
“I didn’t believe it at first, I was like ‘Covid whatever,’ and then it just hit. It’s a real bad headache, like a thousand hangovers, just pressure in your head, and then I started coughing, the coughing was non stop, and that’s when I started getting body pains, the knees first then all the joints, and then pins and needles, like holding glass in my hands,” Mr Puhi says.
He says he’s still only about 50 percent recovered, and he has now lost his sense of taste.
