Councillor threatened over Covid stand

There’s a shout out of support from Tūpuna Maunga Authority chair Paul Majurey for authority member and Auckland Councillor Josephine Bartley.
The Maungakiekie-Tāmaki ward councilor was threatened in her car after a social media post in which she called out the smashing of the Panmure-based Pasefika Family Health Group’s front window soon after a vaccination event.
She now has security guards at her home organised by fellow councilor Efeso Collins.
“Councillor Josephine Bartley, a very staunch protector of the Tūpuna Maunga and also very strong advocate for Pasifika peoples and just want to congratulate the work she does and call out that rubbish behavior that has been evident in the last little while,” Ms Majurey says.
