Kiwa Digital finalist in Nga Tohu Reo Maori 2017
Technology innovator Kiwa Digital is aiming to have its applications offering advice on Maori words and concepts in the hands of more than half the country’s workforce by 2020.
Chief executive Steven Renata says so far it has produced tailored versions of its Cultural Intelligence app to 11 organisations including Air New Zealand, Spark, Vector, Vodafone and Meridian Energy, through to WorkSafe NZ, DOC, Waikato Regional Council and Auckland Council.
By the end of the year it will release versions for further government agencies, a major tertiary institution, two District Health Boards and one of New Zealand’s largest corporates.
Mr Renata says the company is excited to be a finalist in this year’s Maori Language Awards in both the education and business categories.
He says the apps make a clear statement to employees that an understanding of te ao Maori is expected and supported, and that this sits at the centre of the organisation’s vision and strategies.
