Harawira backs reserve sell off


Mana leader Hone Harawira says Labour should leave Ngati Paoa to do a deal with the crown over its Point England development.
Labour says it will vote against a bill allowing the crown to sell 11 hectares of the harbourside Point England Reserve to use for a 300-home development.
Mr Harawira says the decision was clearly made without consultation with the party’s Maori caucus.
"The Labour Party is acting like the colonising force they always have been, which is, we know what's best for you Maori, we'll tell you whats going to happen and you fall into line and say" thank you massa (slang,master)". There's a few more of us that are starting to realise that perhaps they aren't really the polite and benevolent massa that some people think they are. In fact they never have been," says Hone Harawira
