What’s being dubbed the first 3D Maori animated short film will premiere at the New Plymouth season of the New Zealand International Film Festival this month.
Director Helena Bethune says The Rangimoekaus tells the story of three hard case Maori girls on a mission to stop their nanny smoking.
It was a collaboration with Wellington Yoobee School of Design supported by Te Wananga O Aotearoa.
Ms Bethune says it will also screen in festivals in the Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa, and more screenings are planned for next year.
