The board can't decide between accountant Richard Jeffries and television veteran Paora Maxwell, who was pushed from Television New Zealand earlier this year.
Willie Jackson says there is huge expertise available on the Electoral College. so he is surprised that its view wasn’t sought.
Mr Jackson takes over from Tuwhakairiora Williams, who will stay on as a consultant for the next year as Te Putahi Paoho takes on new responsibilities for spectrum management.
Trevor Moeke of Te Tau Ihu o Nga Wananga and Kim Muriwai of Nga Aho Whakaari, Maori in Screen Production were appointed Co-Deputy Chairs.
The composition of Te Putahi Paoho represents the organisations that spearheaded the legal actions that resulted in the Maori Television Service Act, along with stakeholders in the education, language revitalization and broadcasting sectors.
