Māori Trustee given tourism role
Māori Trustee Jamie Tuuta has been appointed to the board of Tourism New Zealand.
He replaces former Māori Tourism Association Chair John Barrett, who runs a tourism business on Kapiti Island.
Tourism Minister John Key says Mr Tuuta, from Ngāti Mutunga, Te Atiawa, Ngāti Tama, Ngāti Maru and Taranaki Iwi, has expertise in governance through his wide experience in the health, iwi development, fishing, agribusiness, education and investment sectors.
He is also a member of the Government's PEAK Group for Sustainable Land Management and the Investment Advisory Panel for the Primary Growth Partnership.
