FOMA teams with CRI to train new leaders
The Federation of Māori Authorities will supply the rangatahi and Industrial Research and Otago University will supply the opportunities in a new Māori internship programme.
Hikohiko Te Uira, announced at FOMA's annual meeting over the weekend, will involve three students working as a team at the crown research institute with science and commercialisation teams before heading out to work on Maori trusts and incorporations.
FOMA Chief Executive Te Horipo Karaitiana says the federation wants to develop the next generation to manage and lead Māori businesses.
He says members have identified science and innovation as an important part of their growth strategies.
