Morgan slur ravage of toothless sheep says Peters
New Zealand First leader Winston Peters has told the hui at Ratana Pa that being called an Uncle Tom by economist and would be politician Gareth Morgan was like being ravaged by a toothless sheep.
Mr Morgan joined the annual trek to Ratana today to tout his new Opportunities Party.
Labour's Kelvin Davis says based on crowd reaction, the winner of the clash was Mr Peters.
He says while the minor parties scrap it out, Labour will concentrate on winning the Maori seats and the bulk of the Maori vote.
He doesn't think the newly-found love on display at Ratana yesterday between Maori Party co-leader Te Ururoa Flavell and Mana's Hone Harawira is a threat to his Te Taitokerau seat, because Mr Harawira still needs to demonstrate a better reason for going back to parliament than to repair his hurt pride.
