Māori health improvement plan coming
Te Whatu Ora chief executive Margie Apa says she has created a hauora Māori services group to deal with people and projects coming back from the Māori Health Authority.
Te Aka Whai Ora chief executive Riana Manuel is staying on until the end of the year to help with the transition.
While the structure has changed, work goes on to support the establishment of regional iwi Maori partnership boards and commission Maori providers.
“An important new task I’ve asked them to do was help us put together as a national Hauora Māori Health Improvement Plan which is a working title but it’s a plan that will bring together all the actions that we’re doing across Te Whatu Ora and the health system to improve Māori health,” Ms Apa says.
