Jacinda Ardern right leader in crisis
Foreign Minister Nanaia Mahuta says Jacinda Ardern was the right leader for a really difficult time in New Zealand history.
The Hauraki-Waikato MP missed last night’s valedictory speech because she’s on a bilateral visit to Sweden, including meeting representatives of the indigenous Sami people.
She says Ms Ardern’s five years as prime minister and 12 years as an MP was a huge service to the country.
“We just wish her well and we’re very excited for her that she can be the mother that she wants to be, the partner she wants to be, the daughter she wants to be and then go ahead and do some other great things which she is truly capable of,” Ms Mahuta says.
