Download AudioThe Hui presenter Mihingarangi Forbes and producer Annabelle Lee-Mather are saying “e noho ra” to the show and moving on to other projects.
The Māori current affairs show on TV3 picked up multiple awards over its seven years, including Best Current Affairs and Best Maori Programme multiple times, and Best Presenter for Mihingarangi Forbes.
Ms Lee-Mathersays they are both moving on to creating independent investigative stories which will be broadcast on TVNZ Online – confident their legacy will be continued at The Hui by new producer Rewa Harriman, a top tennis player turned journalist.
“As older wahine in the industry now we also recognise that it’s really important to make space for our other storytellers and our other producers that are coming through. And we’re just so excited that we get to hand The Hui over to the incredible Rewa Harriman,” she says.
The new presenter of The Hui has been chosen – but won’t be revealed until 2023.
