Māori health providers top priority

The chief medical officer for Te Aka Whai Ora says supporting Māori providers is its number one priority.
Dr Rawiri Jansen says the Government has put a lot of money into health generally and the Māori health authority has identified some great projects.
He says Māori providers have been doing great work for many years, but that’s been recognised because of their responses to the Covid pandemic.
“So that’s got to me number one on our agenda, making sure we’re supporting Māori workforce, Māori providers, getting programmes of activity under way that are going to meet the needs of our people,” Dr Jansen says.
