Wananga fraudsters named
Name suppression has been lifted on the pair who defrauded Te Wananga o Aotearoa of more than $130,000.
Margaret Grace Wood and her estranged husband, Ian Ellis Wood, were both sentenced to 12 months home detention in December for stealing $132,000 in 2008 and 2009.
The court heard that as a senior curriculum designer she channelled contracts to outside companies connected to family members.
Work was not done, or was done by her husband to a woeful standard.
Judge David Ruth lifted suppression after discovering that reinvented herself as a life coach.
Ian Wood had also gained new employment as a part-time counsellor for Te Runanga o Kirikiriroa Trust.
