Big opposition facing Black Ferns

Veteran sports commentator Ken Laban says the Black Ferns need to tighten up to realise their Rugby World Cup dream.
He says despite the Ferns’ strength on attack in beating Wales 56-12 in yesterday at Waitakere Stadium, the New Zealand coaches will be concerned at their slow starting pace.
They also have less game time to prepare than the northern hemisphere teams.
“Wales and Ireland, England and France and Italy play in their own annual tournament up in the northern hemisphere, the equivalent of the Six Nations, so the teams that come out of there are big on set piece, big on scrums, big on line-outs, big on kick-off reception. They traditionally pick big forwards, rumble the ball up the middle before going to the edges. That was the formula which beat the Black Ferns last year when they lost to France,” he says.
Mr Laban says viewing audiences around the world are enjoying the spectacle.
