Manu Kōrero quality high despite Covid hurdles
Schools around the country have completed the regional part of the Ngā Manu Kōrero speech competitions in the new Covid-driven online format.
Schools are recording the speeches, with those videos used to pick the finalists for the national competition at the end of September.
Rotorua Boys’ High School deputy principal Rie Morris the quality of whaikōrero hasn’t wavered despite the changed format, and picking the top kaikōrero will be as tough as always.”For us in Te Arawa, we are all striving to ensure the quality and level achieved is high and I believe that happened not only for us but throughout the country,” she says.
