The founder of kaupapa Māori government relations and communications firm Awhi, Holly Bennett from Te Arawa, has won the Young Business Person of the Year tohu at the 2022 Newmarket Business Awards.
The founder of kaupapa Māori government relations and communications firm Awhi, Holly Bennett from Te Arawa, has won the Young Business Person of the Year tohu at the 2022 Newmarket Business Awards.
Ms Bennett says she started Awhi just over four years ago with the aim of changing people’s perception of the government relations industry.
Rather than lobbying being for the elite, she considers access to government and having your voice heard a democratic right.
She says it’s a privilege to be acknowledged by her peers in Te Tī Tūtahi – Newmarket.
