Oximeter swap for food voucher
MidCentral DHB wants its pulse oximeters back.
The district health board loans out the small devices through GPs, iwi health teams of emergency wards to people who need to monitor their condition while they have Covid-19.
Spokesperson Deborah Davies says there’s been high demand during the Omicron outbreak, but some haven’t been returned once people have recovered.
The DHB is offering a $20 grocery voucher for any meter returned to one of its drop off points.
Covid-19 can cause blood oxygen levels to fall, and a pulse oximeter helps track how well your lungs are working by measuring the level of oxygen in your blood.
