Pouārahi Helen Leahy is stepping down from South Island Whānau Ora commissioning agency Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu.

Board chair Tā Mark Solomon says she’s been an outstanding leader and has played a crucial role in its growth and success over the past seven years.

Her resignation is as a consequence of her partner’s appointment to the pou whirinaki or culture and environmental role with Ruapehu iwi Ngāti Rangi.

Ms Leahy says it has been an absolute privilege to serve the vision of the nine iwi who established Te Pūtahitanga o Te Waipounamu, and she’s been inspired by the endless courage and creativity of hundreds of whānau who have ridden the wave and navigated a pathway ahead.
