Haka sends antivaxers packing from papa kainga

A group of anti-vaccination protesters who tried to hold a vigil at Ōkahu Bay on Saturday got sent packing with a haka by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.
Ōrākei chair Marama Royal said permission for the gathering within the papa kainga was not sought.
She said Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust encourages all those who genuinely care for our communities to do all they can to prevent the further spread of Covid-19.
A Livestream of the confrontation on an anti-vax page included an organiser explaining to the group they had to move because Ngāti Whātua was a violent kind of iwi.
The group of about 100 people moved on to Mission Bay, where it was addressed by members who had been part of the occupation at Parliament.
One speaker said the clearance of the protest by police last Wednesday showed the days of peaceful protest are over, and now this is a war.
