Haere atu – call for convoy stragglers
Wellington MP Paul Eagle is telling Covid protestors camped around Wellington they’re getting in the way of the big clean up.
Since last week’s chaotic end to the 23-day occupation of Parliament grounds, stragglers from the convoy have parked up around the region, including on the Miramar Peninsula in Mr Eagle’s Rongotai electorate – to the annoyance of locals.
“It’s time (for them) to go home. Haere atu said with peace and love, but hey, we need to restore the mana of this city, we just don’t need you fellas to share your raruraru. We get your message, time to go home,” he says.
Paul Eagle thanked Te Ātiawa, who yesterday performed an early morning ceremony to restore the mana of Parliament grounds and the surrounding whenua.
He’s also championing the Big Clean-up website for the large number of Wellingtonians wanting to be involved with cleaning up Parliament grounds.
