Police action to continue until Parliament protest free

Police have used a forklift and trucks to remove protesters’ vehicles from the streets around Parliament.
They say seized vehicles will not be returned in the immediate future.
Since dawn police in riot gear have also been pushing protesters back towards Parliament and making numerous arrests.
Police Commissioner Andy Coster says the operation will continue until it is completed, including clearing tents and structures from Parliament grounds.
He says staff are on hand to help protesters who want to go depart safely from the protest area.
Meanwhile, there were 22,152 new community cases reported today and 405 people in hospital, including 10 in intensive care or high dependency care units.
