It's not about you, it's about us.
That's how Māori immunologist Anthony Jordan wants people to see the vaccine roll out.
Dr Jordan says many young people seem to think they don't need a vaccine because they are less likely to catch COVID-19 than older people – but that kind of thinking puts the people around them at greater risk.
"That seems about protection even in well people. This isn't about an individual, but it actually extends that Korowai of protection around people who are at greater risk of catching COVID-19," he says.
