Aroha from all as Allan starts cancer treatment

Greens co-leader Marama Davidson says Kiritapu Allan’s cancer diagnosis is a warning for wāhine not to neglect their own health when they are looking after others.
Ms Allen has taken leave from her ministerial portfolios while she has medical treatment for cervical cancer.
Ms Davidson says the East Coast MP sharing her story on her Facebook page should help other wāhine Māori who all too often put the needs of others ahead of themselves.
"We put it off, we're too busy, and just how important it is to protect our whakapapa and to put ourselves first when it is needed so a big aroha to her whānau , to her friends and family, to her baby, to her iwi and hapū, to everyone in the community who I know will be reeling a bit and wishing her the absolute strength and fortitude and love as she goes through the treatment," Ms Davidson says.
