Prime shows she has potential to go higher
The co-chair of Labour’s Māori caucus, Willie Jackson, is picking big things of Willow-Jean Prime.
The Ngāti Hine wahine has gone from being a list MP to holding the Northland seat, based on special votes.
Mr Jackson says her first term was affected by the death of her father.
"She was very taumaha for a while and it was hard for her. She has really showed her potential in the last two or three months and she really showed her stuff in terms of the campaign so I think you have got a future minister there, without doubt," he says.
