Waitangi message on the way for Mozzies

Māori Crown Relations Minister Kelvin Davis and Māori Development Minister Nanaia Mahuta are off to Australia to take part in tomorrow’s Waitangi Festival in Sydney.
Mr Davis says the festival at Holroyd Gardens near Parramatta draws about 5000 kiwis every year and has become an important way for New Zealanders in Australia – and especially Māori – to remember and foster their connection to their homeland.
He says it’s a chance to let everyone know a bit more about the work the Government is doing back home.
Ms Mahuta says one in six Māori live in Australia, and one in three of those Māori were born here.
She says Waitangi Day is a way to say they always have a home in Aotearoa.
