Bullying probe good for parliamentary workplace
Employment Minister Willie Jackson is backing an investigation into bullying and harassment of parliamentary staff.
The investigation was called by Speaker Trevor Mallard and goes back to 2014, so could also uncover actions under the previous Government.
Mr Jackson says bullying is a problem in many workplaces, as people may think the positions they get make them better than those who work for or with them.
"If we can find examples of this, if he can weed out some people who might be guilty of this, that will be good because I don't want an environment where people are feeling vulnerable and nervous and scared. I support this and if it's a reminder for people to treat people with respect, then only good can come from it," he says.
