Tool connects rangatahi entrepreneurs
Two budding Wairoa entrepreneurs have won awards at the regional Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme finals for creating tools to connect rangatahi.
Pahemata Robinson and Rahiri Edwards-Hammond are Year 13 students from Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngāti Kahungunu o Te Wairoa.
Their Project Rangatahi won the Innovation and Social Impact award while Ms Edwards-Hammond won the Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Last month she also won the inaugural GirlBoss award, and earlier in the year secured a trip to Colombia as a prize in a YES Entrepreneurs in Action weekend workshop.
The pair were among a group of students from the Kura who travelled down from Wairoa to Hastings every week to attend a business enterprise class offered by the Eastern Institute of Technology School of Business as part of its Trades Academy.
