NZ to show off kaitiakitanga at Dubai Expo 2020

Kaitiakitanga: guardians for people and a place to be is the theme for New Zealand's pavillion at Expo 2020 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The steering group, which includes Steering Group private sector experts Dame Julie Christie and Christopher Luxon, leading Maori creative Bailey Mackey, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, has confirmed architecture firm Jasmax to lead the design team.
It will be assisted by creative story-telling experts Special Group and engineering firm Mott MacDonald.
New Zealand’s commissioner-general, Clayton Kimpton, says the aim is to demonstrate New Zealand’s culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, through a lens of kaitiakitanga.
The pavilion will be located in Expo 2020’s Sustainability District and be based on the theme of kaitiakitanga: guardians for people and place.
The United Arab Emirates is New Zealand's 10th largest trading partner and its strategic location between Europe and Asia means it is an increasingly important gateway for exports.
