Maori population up 1.5 percent

The Maori population grew by 1.5 percent or 10,900 people in the year to June.
Statistics New Zealand estimates the Maori population now stands at 734,200, with wahine outnumbering tane 375,800 to 358,400.
The median age for tane Maori was 22.9 and for wahine Maori 25.9.
