Maori Party mounts Rotorua challenge
The Maori Party has selected Wendy Biddle to run in Rotorua in the September 23 election.
The Te Koutu resident and kohanga reo office manager is married to broadcaster Kingi Biddle.
They have four tamariki and three mokopuna.
Party president Tukoroirangi Morgan says her work with Maori, including helping homeless whanau, is admired and respected.
The Maori Party has so far announced candidates in 15 general seats as well as six of the seven Maori electorates, leaving a clear run for Mana leader Hone Harawira in Te Taitokerau.
