Time to rejoice and celebrate with Kelvin and his whanau says Maori Party president.


Congratulations are pouring in for, Kelvin Davis, and his unanimous appointment as Labours new deputy leader.
Maori Party President Tukoroirangi Morgan, was one of the first to mihi Kelvin Davis.
He says the MP from Te Tai Tokerau's promotion is reflective of his mana amongst his colleagues and wider Labour party voters.
Tukoirangi Morgan says, this is a time all Maori can feel proud, regardless of political persuasion.
"This is a time to rejoice in the success in Maori who have climbed to the rare heights of position of major responsible. For Kelvin to be given the support of his colleagues is an affirmation of his skill and his experience and the kind of commitment that he's given as a member of parliament not only for Maori but for those New Zealanders who actually believe and support in what he does. This is a time to rejoice and celebrate with Kelvin and his whanau," says the Maori Party president Tukoroirangi Morgan.
