First habitat Maori home built

Habitat for Humanity has built its first whare on Maori land, in Tauranga.
From Te Puna, Aaron and Tarryn Moutere along with their tamariki, moved into their three bedroom whare which they helped build themselves on tupuna whenua.
Te Puni Kokiri helped out with a loan from the Kainga Whenua Scheme while Habitat for Humanity provided building construction support as well as planning and consenting assistance.
