Te Whare a Maui place for Maori innovation


Maori innovators now have a new place to go for support.
Callaghan Innovation today opened Te Whare a Maui – The Maori Innovation Hub at its Gracefield Innovation Quarter in Lower Hutt.
Interim chief executive Hemi Rolleston says the shared working space is a place to connect with Maori, cook up new ideas and help business grow,.
He says the quarter contains some of the best minds, facilities and equipment for technology and product development in New Zealand.
Callaghan Innovation is a government agency that helps businesses develop and commercialise technology.
Maori companies already working with Callaghan include Wakatu Incorporation food and beverage business Kono and technology developer and publisher Kiwa Digital.
