Newly appointed CEO at Tainui Group Holding
Waikato-Tainui's corporate arm have looked inside the organisation and promoted their acting chief executive to the top job.
After a 6-month proces Tainui Group Holdings board of directors has appointed Chris Joblin as their new chief executive.
He will take on the role immediately.
The former chief financial officer has been with the company for more than five years and was installed as acting chief executive in April when former boss Mike Pohio resigned.
He is a former CFO at meat company AFFCO and director at TGH's hotels and Waikato Milking Systems and representative of the company's fishing interests.
In August, he called for a joint venture partner to take up to half the tribe's stake in The Base shopping centre and says they are now responding to inquiries from a range of potential joint venture partners.
He says they are also looking at new opportunities for TGH to invest directly in high-performing businesses and primary industries and are responding to strong market demand for the next stages in the development of the 550 hectare work live and play hub at Ruakura in Hamilton East.
