KIWA Digital breakthrough
Maori-owned Kiwa Digital is describing a new deal with Chinese television company Beijing Kaku Media as a breakthough.
Kiwa will use its leading edge technology to deliver interactive cartoon stories to mobile devices in Chinese languages.
The deal was signed yesterday in Shanghai in the presence of New Zealand Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce.
Bejing Kaku Media is considered the top cartoon programmer in China, with the widest coverage area, most audiences and greatest influence.
KIWA director Dr Xiaoying Fu says the new local language digital books will give teachers and parents a wider range of language resources to aid literacy development.
KIWA has also negotiated a partnership with Shanghai Xiwai International School to help develop new learning resources for penetrate the wider China education market.
