Former Maori affairs minister and Kahungunu elder has welcomed the republishing of a book on his tribal history, even if the story is not complete.
Takitimu by J.H. Mitchell or Tiaki Hikawera Mitira has been republished in hardback by Oratia Media.
Dr Sharples says when it was first published in 1944 there was some controversy because it reflected the division of the tribe into three different Maori Land Court regions for administration purposes.
