Maori Television has lost one of its most experienced administrators.
In a note to staff yesterday, new chief executive Paora Maxwell confirmed the resignation of the general manager of finance & administration, Alan Withrington.
Mr Withrington, who in the past has served as acting chief executive, would have been required to compete for his job under the restructuring being done by Mr Maxwell.
With him gone, Darren Beatty will be directly appointed into the new role of head of finance & administration.
Mr Maxwell says Mr Withrington has made an enormous contribution to Maori TV over more than ten years, and his wide and acute knowledge of the broadcasting industry and his vast network will be sorely missed.
He leaves at the end of October, at the same time as production general manager Carol Hirschfeld.
