New members for Waitangi Tribunal

Maori Language Commissioner Erima Henare and Hamilton Maori health service manager Tureiti Moxon have been appointed to the Waitangi Tribunal.
The other new members are historian Dr Angela Ballara, who has already sat on the Whanganui and Rangitikei/Taupo inquiries, and Wellington lawyer David Cochrane.
The appointments were for 12 months because they are being made so close to the election.
Seven members were reappointed including Tania Simpson, Dr Aroha Harris, Pou Temara, Dr Monty Soutar, Kihi Ngatai, Basil Morrison and Ronald Crosby.
Chief Judge Wilson Isaac was reappointed as the tribunal chair.
Maori Affairs Minister Hon Dr Pita Sharples says Chief Judge Isaac has exhibited the ability to maintain the confidence of key groups through the Tribunal process.
