Sugar daddies part of politics

Internet Party leader Laila Harre may have got upset at John Key’s jibe that party funder Kim Dotcom was her sugar daddy, but Mana’s Te Tai Tonga candidate Georgina Beyer has no such qualms.
The former Labour MP spoke up for the German-born data mogul at a candidates debate broadcast on Radio Waatea and the iwi radio network.
She said Kim Dotcom has a vision to bring New Zealand into the digital future where there are more jobs that are relevant to young people
She says he’s a charismatic and a polarising man, and the sugar daddy comment just goes to show the prime minister is worried.
"Well I wasn’t offended by it. I've known a few sugar daddies in my time. But Laila is a woman of her own right and that's the way she took it and other women seem to have been offended by what was said but I think in the scheme of things it's not something we should be talking about, policy is what people want to hear about," Ms beyer says.
The next Te Wero will be broadcast on Radio Waatea and other Iwi stations every Friday morning.
