Whyte privilege philosophy flawed

Maori Affairs Minister Pita Sharples says ACT’s philosopher-leader Jamie Whyte has failed to understand how privilege applies in Aotearoa-New Zealand.
Mr Whyte says ACT will push to scrub any laws that deliver specific benefit to Maori if it forms part of the next Government.
Dr Sharples says he’s stealing a page from the Winston Peters’ playbook, and it has no grounding in reality.
He says there is nothing wrong with creating programmes that give people equality of opportunity.
"Privilege is the exact opposite as far as Maori and many minority groups in New Zealand go, otherwise we would be lining up at Kohimarama and Remuera and they would be living in Otara," Dr Sharples says.
