Athletes crash IronMaori website
IronMaori Hawkes Bay organisers are giving people a second chance to register for this year’s events after its website failed to cope with traffic.
The site opened at 7am on Saturday to take entries for the quarter Ironman, which has 550 individual spots and 550 team spots available, and the half Ironman, which had 800 individual spots and 600 team spots.
But Heather Skipworth says it crashed almost immediately because of unprecedented demand.
The site is being moved to a bigger server and registrations will be reopened on April 5.
IronMaori aims to introduce Maori to physical exercise and activity while providing a family and group atmosphere.
