Wall puts pressure on dope dairies
Manurewa MP Louisa Wall is taking her campaign against synthetic cannabis to the streets.
Ms Wall says she has managed to get the landlord of a legal high shop on Manurewa’s main street to take down some of its signage, and she has visited shops and dairies, especially those near schools.
She’s urging them not to stock the product and warning them it will be harder to sell after the Psychoactive Substances Bill becomes law in August.
“Because essentially what the law is going to require of the manufacturer’s is that they prove it safe before they can sell it. At the moment, no products have gone through a safety regime. I’m also communicating with my dairy owners not to get sucked in by the people who they buy off or to buy a whole lot under the assumption that they continue to sell it because that’s not going to be the case,” she says.
Louisa Wall says many dairies already refuse to stock synthetic cannabis because of its harmful effects.
