There's a celebration in Otago this weekend of 30 years of Māori rugby in the province.
Organiser Raymond Te Huki says it started in an informal way, with teams made up on the day to take on other representative sides.
Many of the players would be Māori students new to Otago University.
He says the celebrations at the Alhambra-Union Club's North Ground will include a dinner and a get together as well as a skills session for promising young Māori players, run by New Zealand Rugby Union Māori Development Manager Tiki Edwards.
